The Demuru family of Ilbono, a small town located in Ogliastra, has owned an oil mill since the 1700s. We have been millers for 6 generations, which is a testament to our long tradition in the olive oil industry.
Oleificio Demuru’s extra virgin olive oil is obtained from the pressing of olives of the renowned “Ogliastrina”, “Bosana” and “Semidana” varieties, harvested by hand (brucatura) at the optimal ripening period. The olive groves located in the hills of Ogliastra, in the central-eastern area of Sardinia, benefit from ideal climatic and environmental conditions, which give the oil unique characteristics, enhanced by ancient production techniques.
After careful selection, the best olives are immediately delivered to the mill for processing, using only physical and mechanical means. Reduced storage time and strict adherence to processing steps ensure a high-quality product.
